Frequently Asked Questions
How can I enroll my child in the Soundscapes Daily Music Program?
Level 1
- New students must be in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd grade at a participating school.
- Parent/guardian must submit a fully completed registration form.
- Registration forms are to be submitted to the main office or your child’s school teacher or completed using the links above.
- Students will be selected via lottery. The remaining students not selected will populate a waiting list. If a spot opens up and your child is next on the waiting list, you will be notified by phone.
Level 2
- Students must have participated in level 1 and be recommended for advancement by the program staff. If space allows, new students must be 3rd or 4th graders at a participating school with a behavioral recommendation from school staff.
- Parent/guardian must submit a fully completed registration form.
- Registration forms are to be submitted to the main office or your child’s school teacher or completed using the links above.
- Students will be selected via lottery. The remaining students not selected will populate a waiting list. If a spot opens up and your child is next on the waiting list, you will be notified by phone.
Level 3
- Students must have participated in Level 2 and be recommended for advancement to Level 3 by the program staff.
- Students who attend a participating school and have 2 years of private instrumental instruction may audition for admission, including playing and a behavioral recommendation from school staff.
Level 4
- Students must have previously been enrolled in Soundscapes as a Level 3 student and recommended for advancement by program staff.
- Students must be enrolled in one or more of their school’s music programs, such as band, orchestra, or chorus.
What if my child is not otherwise eligible, but has a sibling already enrolled with Soundscapes?
Siblings not yet enrolled in Soundscapes and in grades 1-4 are eligible for automatic enrollment one year following the enrollment of a sibling. All first-time applicants in their first year of applying will be chosen via lottery.
Do I need to re-register my child every year?
No, returning students do not need to re-enroll.
If my child left the program before completing the year, are they allowed back the next year?
Students who have been asked to leave the program in the previous year due to a behavioral issue or have left voluntarily must participate in the regular lottery process.
