In addition to making a one-time donation or joining our monthly giving program, there are many ways that YOU can make a difference for our student musicians!
Soundscapes is proud to have received the Platinum Seal of Transparency from Candid. Check out our complete Guidestar profile here.
Get Recognized at Events
Becoming a sponsor comes with many benefits!
Recognition at events by organizations like Soundscapes can increase your visibility, enforce a positive brand image, demonstrate social responsibility, and provide networking opportunities.
Contact Development Director Sara Balgoyen at sbalgoyen@soundscapeshr.org or 757-273-6178 to learn more.
Earn NAP Tax Credits
For individual gifts of at least $500 and corporate gifts of at least $616, we are pleased to offer Neighborhood Assistance Program state tax credits worth 60% of your donation. NAP tax credits are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Please call or email to confirm availability before making your gift.
Donate Your Required Minimum Distributions
Required minimum distributions are mandatory withdrawals that individuals with certain retirement accounts must take annually once they reach a certain age. Individuals can make qualified charitable distributions directly from their retirement accounts to eligible nonprofit organizations. These distributions count towards satisfying the requirement and are excluded from taxable income, providing potential tax benefits.
Give to the Yaffa Howell Music Fund
We created the Yaffa Howell Music Fund to provide instruments and music supplies to recent high school graduates who plan to continue pursuing music. The fund is named for Yaffa Howell, a student from the very first class of Soundscapes participants, who is working toward a college degree in music education.
Donate an Instrument
Soundscapes is always pleased to accept instrument donations. We need half-size to full-size string instruments (including basses!) and wind, brass, and percussion instruments. Unfortunately, we cannot accept acoustic pianos at this time.
If you are interested in donating an instrument, please email contact@soundscapeshr.org or call us at (757) 273-6178 to arrange for drop-off or pick-up.
Make a Stock Gift
Donating securities that have been held for a year or more offers the potential for a double tax benefit—a full fair market value tax deduction and elimination of capital gains taxes.
Reach out to Development Director Sara Balgoyen at sbalgoyen@soundscapeshr.org or 757-273-6178 to arrange your gift.
